Graymade delivered the replacement of critical access hatch infrastructure at Quakers Hill Pump Station and Intermittent Monitoring Chamber (IMC). The project involved the removal of existing access hatch assemblies and installation of new custom-fabricated access covers designed to provide safe and reliable access to underground wastewater assets while improving long term durability in a corrosive operational environment.
The works included replacement of large access hatch systems, removable cover sections, hinged access panels, fixings and ancillary steelwork. While the original design specified galvanised steel construction, Graymade upgraded the installation by supplying and installing new 316 stainless steel access covers, providing enhanced corrosion resistance, reduced maintenance requirements and improved whole-of-life asset performance.
Delivered within an operational pump station environment, the project required careful planning, precision installation and integration with existing structures to maintain safe site access and ongoing operational functionality. The completed works provide a robust and durable access solution that supports commitment to asset reliability, worker safety and long term infrastructure resilience.
