Graymade delivered the construction of a new access and maintenance platform for a sewer asset at Belmore Road, Punchbowl. The project involved the installation of a purpose-built steel and FRP grated platform to provide safe access around an existing sewer pit and associated infrastructure.
The works included construction of a galvanised structural steel support frame, installation of FRP grating panels, chemical anchoring into existing concrete structures, modification of surrounding infrastructure, and integration with existing fencing and access arrangements. The platform was designed to improve safe access for inspection and maintenance activities while accommodating the constraints of the existing site and sewer network assets.
Delivered within an operational utility environment, the project required careful coordination around existing Sydney Water infrastructure and site access requirements. The completed platform provides a durable, low-maintenance access solution that enhances worker safety, asset accessibility, and long-term operational efficiency.
